Mrs D Brown 2013

One of my favourite shows, it is always so well supported with quality cats, it really was a privilege to have them to judge, I was particularly impressed by some of the exhibits coat condition here today and pleased to see  the Bicolours  gaining high honors. And it was good to see so many friends again, my sincere thanks to Alice and Sharon for the invitation. To my excellent steward Jo, thank you for completing a happy day once again.

BREED CLASSES

Siamese/Balinese/Oriental Olympian Grand Champion Male
1st O w/h – Cassar-Simmonds’ IMP GD CH FIORDILISO INFIDELITY (29) 15/01/09. A strong, handsome and masculine male of very good type. Strong head with good width between large ears very well set. Almost straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Oriental shape and set to eyes with typical expression and good green colour. Elegant neck, long fairly weighty body though could do with a little more coverage over the spine, long strong limbs and neat oval paws, good whip tail to balance. Rich warm toned Havana coat which appeared a little dark in the pen but was better out of it, unfortunately the texture was completely wrong today, it was long, soft, fine and open, it was also rather unsound.  I do sympathise, it is difficult to keep entire boys in pristine condition, and had this been a lower award I would have made an allowance for this. A little tetchy but handed okay.  Pen presentation excellent.

Siamese/Balinese/Oriental Olympian Grand Champion Female
O – Withers’ IMP GD CH TINTALLY TICKERY BOO (24n) F 15/05/10. Good to see this gorgeous lady again. Excellent type with a well balanced stylish medium length wedge and large wide based ears set beautifully.  Super eyes for shape, set, expression  and brilliance of colour. Strong roman profile with a firm chin and level bite.  Elegant neck line and a long – perhaps a little comfortably covered body, tail to almost balance.  Perfect points colour, excellent murky toned lilac-based caramel, well matched on all points, with impressive contrast to her body that shows the lightest of brownish shading. Coat qualities excellent, short sleek and close.  A joy to handle, she ticks all my boxes!

R – Brock’s IMP GD CH KARAMUSHI TUTI FRUITY (32b1) F 04/08/07. Very unlucky today, another gorgeous lady with style and panache and it was just one or two small things that was the decider between them.  Lovely head with wide top line and large flyaway ears excellently set. Inscrutable expression to eyes of very good depth of blue.  Profile good with firm chin and level bite, to nit pick the muzzle could be a tad fine. Long slender and firm toned body, tail to almost balance. Points colouring a little on the black and white side but she does have some warmer tones of red on the ears, fairly heavily shaded coat, although I thought it looked less so today than on our previous encounters, length and texture very good today. Perfect temperament and as always excellently presented.

Siamese/Balinese Imperial Grand Premier Male
IMP – Pearson’s GD PR AMYDAY MERELY A MONARCH (32fn) MN18/07/08. Supremely handsome neuter boy. Strong stylish head with lovely wide top line and very large flyaway ears excellently set. Oriental eye shape, perhaps a little deep set with haws up a touch, colour good for depth of blue.  Strong profile and deep chin with level bite.  Excellent muscle tone to long body for a neuter, long elegant limbs, well tapered tail rather short for balance.  Excellent points colour, rich hot matte apricot and matching, off-white coat rather heavily shaded but some contrast still seen, and the length and texture was excellent. Grumbled and grumped a lot but didn’t really mean it and handled well.  Excellently presented – good to see him again.

Siamese/Balinese Imperial Grand Premier Female
IMP – Pounds’ CH & GD PR JOMESE JENNI-IGOTBLUESPOTS (32b2) FN 02/11/10.  Lovely lady neuter so very feminine and stylish.  Beautiful head type with very large wide based ears set to follow the lines of the medium wedge perfectly.  Love her eyes – deep deep blue with a true Siamese expression. Strong profile, almost straight apart from a slight rise between the eyes, firm chin and level bite. Well defined neck line and a long well toned body that was weightier than it looked. Pretty powder blue tortie points beautifully mingled in pale cream, one hind leg looked a little solid but has the required breaks  higher up the stocking. Coat contrast excellent with the lightest of blue tortie shading to tone, length good, texture close and sleek.  Lovely temperament, a beautiful girl and doesn’t she know it!  Excellently presented.

Oriental Imperial Grand Premier
IMP – Webster’s GD PR NANPEMA FIDELIO (37d) MN02/05/11.  A handsome lad, very good for type and style.  Strong head with wide top line and large well flared ears set to follow.  Profile almost straight with a good firm chin and level bite, small pinch to muzzle today. Super clear green colour to eyes of oriental shape set and expression. Long weighty but still elegant body with whip tail to almost balance.  Rich red colouring to coat, lots of pattern evident with nice round spots a spotty would be pleased to have, beautiful coat texture almost like satin, it was very short and extremely close to body.  Easy to handle, very relaxed, excellently presented.

Siamese/Balinese Grand Premier
IMP – Musson’s GD PR MAFDET METALLICA (24n) MN 15/01/12. This boy still has a slightly kitten-ish look about him although he is not small by any means, type excellent. Even and well balanced medium length wedge with very good top of head, ears large and nicely flared, excellently set.  Super strong profile and deep chin with level bite, marginal pinch today.  Excellent eye shape set and expression, with very good depth of blue and brilliance of tone. Long elegant and well toned body with tail to balance. Lilac-based caramel points colour, with clear brownish overtones. Completely unshaded off-white coat with excellent close texture.  A super boy to handle and beautifully presented.

R – Johnson’s GD PR SULALAYA ICEWARRIOR (32/8)  MN 18/08/11. A huge chap but still retains his elegance, type very good.  Medium wedge with good top of head and large flared ears set to almost balance.  Gentle expression to eyes of very good shape and set, with mid blue colour. Profile good with a nice “fat” nose, chin okay and bite level, slight pinch to muzzle.  Tends to hunch his neck, long really weight body, well tapered tail needs an inch to balance.   Greyish brown tabby markings with good clear scarab, clear bracelets to limbs and multi tail rings.  Some tonal shading to coat of short sleek texture. A little shy but handled well,  presented in top condition.

Oriental Grand Champion Male
GD CC – Brownrigg’s  CH HEMLOCK SOULJA BOY(38a) M 25/03/12. This boy looked immaculate today, strong and handsome with excellent size and development for is age. Broad medium length wedge with very good top of head and good sized ears set to follow. Basic shape to eyes good although they are a touch large in proportion to the head, but setting correct and the colour is excellent, a vivid mid green. Profile good with firm chin and level bite. Elegant neck and a long weighty and well muscled body for a youngster, long whip.   Dark blue spotted pattern, although I do wonder if he will end up blue-based caramel. He has a very definite brownish overtone to the skull and his tail rings are almost indigo, it will be interesting to see how he develops, but his spotting is good with minimal linkage and only slight agouti invasion. Spine line well broken, well defined ringing to limbs and tail and there are three broken necklaces to chest.  Superb coat for length and texture, short close and sleek.  Excellent temperament and presentation.

R – Handley’s CH BABDAG BLUE-BAYOU (37a) M 19/07/11. A very stylish and elegant male. Longer wedge head with very good top-line and large flared ears excellently set. Wicked expression to eyes of super vivid green.  Profile good with firm chin and level bite.  Tending to hunch his neck today, long lean and well muscled body, long elegant limbs and neat oval paws, whip tail to balance. Cool toned blue coat, perhaps a touch dark but even and sound to roots, one or two white hairs evident. Coat length good, but there is evidence of stud tail which appears to have extended it’s greasiness onto the lower back. Good tempered but very shy and not doing himself justice today. Pen presentation was probably excellent before he wrecked it!

Oriental Grand Champion Female
GD CC – Roberts’ CH ADECISH PIPER (42h) F 08/12/09.  An attractive lady for type with a strong medium length wedge. Top line good and the ears are large enough and well set to balance. Super green colour to eyes of very good shape and set. Profile chin and bite good, perhaps a touch blunt in the muzzle but does not detract. Well toned body of good length with long elegant limbs and tail to almost balance.  Darker chocolate tortie colouring to coat, beautifully mingled throughout in mid red. Smoke undercoat is now very well developed, I am pleased to see, with silver up to the one third  required.  Coat length and texture typical for a smoke, ie. a tad long and almost silky in texture but lying close.  The sweetest temperament, so easy to handle and excellently presented.

Red Point Siamese Male  Kitten  (under 6 months)
1st & BOB – Simpson’s MYLYNN MAIN-ATTRACTION (3a) 01/12/12. A beautifully grown little boy for 4 months and very promising for type. Longer wedge with a good wide top line and large nicely flared ears very well set. Very good expression to eyes of oriental shape and set,  deep blue in colour.  Baby dips to profile, firm  chin and level bite. Firm and solid little body with long whippy tail to balance.  Good bright red points developing, unshaded warm white coat with good close texture for a baby.  A dear little boy to handle and excellently presented.

Red Point Siamese Male Kitten (6 – 9 months)
1st – Pearson’s BURNTHWAITES ALL-THAT-JAZZ (32a) MN 30/08/12. Good type to this lad but a little on the small side for 7 months.  Longer wedge with good top of head and large ears set to follow. Almond eye shape, setting good and colour excellent.  Dip to profile centre nose, chin could be stronger but bite level, pinch to muzzle. Long neck and body, the latter had good weight for size, long limbs and tail. Muted mid red points colour, lightly shaded warm white coat that was a touch long fine and slightly open today.   A very sweet tempered boy. Excellently presented.

Red Point Siamese Female Kitten (6 – 9 months)
1st – Veal & Smith’s RIOBELLE RED POPPY (32a) F 22/07/12. A solid little girl of good type, not far from being adult but still has some way to go.  Quite a strong head for a girl with good wide top and large wide based ears very well set.  Eye shape good though does tend to hold a little wide, pupils enlarged today but colour on the periphery looked okay. Slight dip to profile, deep chin rounds off a tad, bite level.   Well covered and weighty body of good length, long dainty limbs, tapered tail needs at least an inch to balance. Good bright red points colour and a lightly shaded coat of close sleek texture. Rather shy but very gentle. Excellently presented.

Apricot Siamese Neuter
PC – Denholm’s PIPISTRELLE FRANGELICO (32fn) MN  25/04/12. A great big chap for 9 months, overall type good. Medium length wedge with fairly good top of head and large ears he tends to hold a little high at times, but much better when he relaxes. Basic eye shape good though a little full, setting good and colour excellent. Profile chin and bite good.  Long really weighty adolescent body, long elegant limbs and a well tapered tail that needs an extra inch to balance. Excellent points colour, very well developed for a youngster with super hot matte tones to ears and tail in particular, minimal shading to body with good coat length and texture. A very sweet lad, so friendly bless him. Excellently presented.

BOB - Pearson’s GD PR AMYDAY MERELY A MONARCH (32fn) MN18/07/08

Oriental Blue Adult
BOB - Handley’s CH BABDAG BLUE-BAYOU (37a) M 19/07/11.

Oriental Fawn Adult
CC & BOB – Helm’s VELVETEENA FAWNYKACHON (37r) F  31/05/12. A dainty and stylish young Miss, with maturity in keeping with age. Well balanced medium length wedge with good width to top-line and large nicely flared ears set to follow. Small dip to profile centre nose, and she has a small pinch that spoils the even lines of the wedge a touch, chin has good depth but slopes back, bite level. Well defined neck and long, slender and firm toned body, long dainty limbs and whip tail to almost balance.  Warm rosy fawn coat that was virtually sound and almost clear of ghosting, with short, sleek close lying texture.  Excellent temperament and presentation.

Oriental Spotted Tabby Adult
BOB - Brownrigg’s  CH HEMLOCK SOULJA BOY(38a) M 25/03/12

Oriental Smoke Adult
BOB - Roberts’ CH ADECISH PIPER (42h) F 08/12/09

Havana Kitten (6 – 9 months)
1st & BOB – Keoghan’s ALDERSTAR KAGUYA-HIME (29) F 15/09/12. A very attractive and well grown kitten. Good head type, stylish and well balanced with very good top line and large ears well set. Tiny dip to profile with good chin and level bite.  Typical Havana expression to eyes of a slightly muddy toned green. Good length to body that was weighty and well covered, long whip to balance. Havana coat marginally dark but warm in tone, it was also almost sound and clear of ghosting. Coat a touch long and fine in texture but managing to lie close to body.   A very nice kitten excellently presented.

Oriental Bicolour (under 6 months)
1st & BOB – Cassar-Simmonds’ ADTHISH FIRODILISO INDIA (48 40e) 26/10/12. A well grown baby of promising type. Well balanced little head with good width to top and large open based ears set very well.  Oriental eye shape, setting a touch straight at present,  depth of blue very good given the proximity of white.  Strong profile with broad nose, good chin and level bite.  Good length to weighty body with long tail to balance.  Most attractive for pattern, almost back tortie with a good deal of rich red patching to ears in particular, white patching to just over the third with an inverted “v” to mask, across the chest, down the tummy and on all four limbs, with a little on her back. Coat length good and the texture was short and sleek.  Super to handle and excellently presented.

Oriental Red Neuter
BOB - Webster’s GD PR NANPEMA FIDELIO (37d) MN02/05/11

Oriental Bicolour Neuter
BOB – Castelli’s PR SENSAY SORBET N CREAM (48 38f) MN 14/02/11. Long time no see, he seems to have gained size and substance since we last met and is now a nicely matured lad. Stylish head of medium length, with very good top line and large flared ears set to balance.  Sweet expression to eyes of oriental shape and set with mid green colour. Almost straight profile and firm chin with level bite, pinch to muzzle. Well defined neck and a long really weighty body, whippy tail needs just a touch more length to balance. Just over one half white to colour with white to face chest, tummy and limbs with some over the back, cream spotting a little dark with pattern most evident on the sides, rather indistinct elsewhere. Lovely coat texture beautifully sleek and close. Such a sweet person to handle. Excellently presented.

MISCELLANEOUS CLASSES
Siamese/Balinese Debutante Adult
1st – Jackson-Lee’s NIGHTQUEEN ROULETTE (24r) M 02/07/12. What a super chap – where did he come from? a wonderful size for 9 months and with such  good type. Well balanced head and a huge strong body. Eyes could be deeper in colour but were acceptable. Points pale and rosy toned. Coat completely unshaded and excellent for length and texture. I was impressed with this chap and he was my choice for Best Siamese Male.  Super nature.

2nd – Brownrigg’s HEMLOCK SEXY-AN-I-KNOW-IT (24) M 10/06/12. This youngster was also very well developed for his age. Type very good indeed but his points are somewhat cool in tone as is his coat shading, which is quite heavy for a young boy.  Excellent coat texture. Excellent temperament – very playful.

3rd – Brown’s BURTHWAITES MAYFLOWER (32b3) F 25/06/12.  Extremely stylish and she was beautifully poised and presented, but far too small for an adult at present. Lovely expression to eyes of very good colour. Chocolate torte points very dark and the red mingling is very pale. An attractive girl who just needs to grow up. Excellent to handle.

Oriental Non-Breeders Adult Male
1st – Holdsworth’s DIAMANTES VERDES DIRTY DANCER (48 38) M 30/06/12. A strong and handsome boy of excellent type, he is huge for 9 months. Strong head with very good top line and lovely large ears excellently set. Snooty expression to eyes of very good green.  Long very weight body and good tail.  Border line for white although I think he just has enough, the line down his tummy is compete but quite narrow, but he has a fair amount in the groin area and down the inside of his hind legs, and there is white on his face front legs and chest.   Super short close coat. An excellent boy to handle.

Oriental Maiden Adult M or F
1st - Holdsworth’s DIAMANTES VERDES DIRTY DANCER (48 38) M 30/06/12

Oriental  Adolescent Adult M or F
1st – Webster’s FIORDILISO NANPEMA-NUAGE (48 40) F 21/03/12. This lady has such a feminine look to her, lovely for type with plenty of white, I have reported on her many times so have little to add. Still love that ”tache”.   Perfect to handle.

2nd - Helm’s VELVETEENA FAWNYKACHON (37r) F  31/05/12.

Oriental Breeders Kitten Male
1st - Webster’s NANPEMA ORO-NEGRO (37) M 25/10/12    A lovely well grown kitten of very good type and style, but sadly monorchid.   Stylish head with excellent top and super size ears excellently set. What a naughty expression to eyes! colour a very good green. Slight rise between eyes to profile with a long strong nose, good chin and bite. Very good tone and substance to long elegant body, long limbs and long whip to balance but with a small “indiscretion” at the tip you can feel but not see.  Gorgeous coat, jet glossy black, gleaming with health, sound to roots and of excellent sleek texture. Should do well once he is neutered.  Excellent temperament and presentation.

Oriental Non-Breeders Kitten Female.
1st - Cassar-Simmonds’ ADTHISH FIRODILISO INDIA (48 40e) 26/10/12

2nd – Hirst’s KARAMUSHI PANDORA SURPRISE (29) F 06/11/12. Overall a very nice kitten for type and well grown for age. Fairly well balanced head with good top and large ears well set. Typical expression to eyes of a good green eyes not always seen in this colour, but should be. Strong profile and good chin with level bite. Solid little body and long whip. Havana coat quite dark and could be warmer in tone, but it was sound and the texture was very good. Has two interesting twin whorls on her nose.  Excellent temperament

3rd  (? col)  – Parry’s NYSTALA MYSTICAL MAYHEM (29c) F 13/10/12. A well grown kitten of good type but colour does not conform to lilac. Head type good, perhaps a touch long in the nose but top line good and the ears are a very good size and set.  Profile chin and bite good. Oriental eye shape and set with mid green colour.  Well covered body of good length with long limbs and neat paws, whip tail almost balances. Coat colouring far too dark for lilac, there is a reddish overtone to it rather than pinkish grey and her paw pads are more in keeping with a fawn or cinnamon cat. She is too dark for fawn yet clearly dilute, so fawn-based caramel would be my guess, or, certainly caramel  but carrying cinnamon. The coat is sound to roots and the length and texture very good.  Excellent to handle and excellently presented.

Siamese/Balinese Senior Neuter (part one)
1st - Pounds’ CH & GD PR JOMESE JENNI-IGOTBLUESPOTS (32b2) FN 02/11/10

2nd – Weatherill’s IMP GD PR BURNTHWAITES GOOD-TIME-GIRL (32b1) FN 13/08/10. An overall very well balanced girl without undue exaggeration. Even and well balanced medium wedge and large ears very well set. Good expression to eyes of very good depth of blue. Super dark warm seal tortie points beautifully mingled with rich shades of red. Coat contrast excellent for a seal tortie, particularly a mature one, with only very light shading overall. Good length to coat that was a touch soft and fine in texture today.  A friendly lady.

3rd – Green’s FIORDILISO LINCOLN (24) MN 20/05/10.  What a big chap, overall type good although his head looks a little small in proportion to a body which could do with fining down a tad for elegance, it also makes his tail look short. Mid blue eyes and dark dense but warm toned seal points. Medium shading to coat in warm seal with creamy bib and tummy, coat texture and length very good.  A sweet boy.

Siamese/Balinese Senior Neuter (part two)
1st - Pearson’s GD PR AMYDAY MERELY A MONARCH (32fn) MN18/07/08

2nd – Green’s GD CH MAPU FIRENZE (24n) FN 10/04/07. This attractive mature lady neuter has very good type and such a gentle expression to  eyes of very good colour. Neat and trim body with good tail. Super points colour, with the correct brownish overtones, to ears mask and tail in particular. Very good contrast to off-white coat, with minimal shading to tone with the points,  though a touch soft and fine in  texture today. Handled well as always.

3rd – Green’s SIMPLYSMITTEN CARAMELOMINE (32b8) MN 28/03/09. A dear boy of good type. Medium length head, ears could be a touch larger for balance but had good width between them.  Super eyes for shape, set, depth of colour and brilliance of tone. Tabby points appeared to be more dark blue than blue-based caramel, at four years of age I would have expected to see them darker and with much more of a brownish overtone, however the lighting was not particularly helpful. Excellent to handle.

Balinese Neuter Male or Female
1st – Ryan’s RIDESTAR SEVERN SUNRISE (61dt) MN 20/06/12. What a huge person! he is simply enormous for a such young thing.  Type very good with medium length wedge, ears could be a little larger but they were nicely furnished and very well set. Eye shape a touch full but better when relaxed, colour bright mid blue. Long very substantial body, could do with fining down a bit but he is an adolescent. Super bright red tabby markings with excellent clear rings to tail. Coat okay, it could be a little longer down the sides but he is still very young, plume reasonably furnished, texture gorgeously silky and fine. This chap has the most amazing long fluffs on his elbows!  A happy boy in super condition.
