Mrs K Denholm 2013

Thank you Alice for the invitation to judge the HPs for my very first time, especially at our most favourite, friendliest show of the year. 'Our' in this case as my other half's show judgement is solely based on the presence and quality of bacon rolls - nuff said! Thank you Elaine for being such a kindly, experienced and competent steward helping out a novice - it made a pleasant change from our usual discussions about our beloved tortie points on the 'other side'. We had a lovely time meeting so many friendly little people.

Class 291a - Olympian Class - Pedigree/Non Pedigree Imperial Grand Master Cat, Male
1st OLY - Pen 69 Kidd's IGMC Domino MN

A huge black glossy boy with clear apple green eyes that contrasted brilliantly with his coat. A very weighty boy but when he was out on the table it was clear that he was just solidly well built and bursting with health. Only tiny nitpick a few miniscule flakes of scurf that we would not have noticed were it not for the spectacular shiny blackness of the fur - gentle and easy to handle and exuded photogenic quality. Congratulations on later well deserved BIS household pet.
2nd Res OLY - Pen 70 Kidd's OGIGMC Alfred MN
Very gentle, cuddly, attractive tabby and white boy whose general looks and condition belied his advanced age. Coat quality, while excellent for age, was a little dry and could not match the sheer sparkle of his competitor.

Class 291b - Olympian Class - Pedigree/Non Pedigree Imperial Grand Master Cat, Female
1st OLY W/H - Pen 73 Kidd's OBIGMC Hannah FN

Adorable tortie and white old lady, sweet natured and gentle who would have let us cuddle her all day. While she was in excellent condition for her age today her coat contrast and texture did not have the sparkling quality necessary for a top award.

Class 293 - Grand Class - Non Pedigree Master Cat
1st GR Pen 71 Smith's McAllan MN

Friendly in boy super condition and with sparkling contrast between tabby and white. On close examination minute tuft missing - had he been in the wars? Not enough to detract from award for this handsome cuddly boy.

Class 299a - Open Class - Non Pedigree SH Tabby with/without white male
BOB Pen 71 Smith's McAllan MN

Class 299b Open Class - Non Pedigree SH Tabby with/without white female
1st BOB Pen 72 McCormack's Looby-Loo FN

Dear little tabby and white, glossy coat with pristine white parts. Very wriggly but extremely friendly with it!

Class 304 - Imperial Class - AC Pedigree Grand Master Cat
1st IMP - Pen 77 Kidd's GMC Edwin MN

Gorgeous silvery ticked boy of excellent cobby but balanced BSH type. He has excellent condition and coat quality and the most sweetly expressive face and eyes. Gentle temperament and easy to handle but perhaps a tiny bit shy and lacking self confidence in his stunning looks.

Class 310 - Open Class - Pedigree Pets - SH Self with/without white
1st MC BOB Pen 75 Evan's Sadie FN

Silky, plump, sleek girl, well nourished and in fantastic condition - a rather good Havana apart from eye colour? Gentle and friendly and would fit in very well at home - resisted stealing her.

Class 316 - Miscellaneous Class - Junior Cat
1st Pen 76 Castelli's MC Stuart Little MN

Gentle elegant oriental tabby bicolour boy in super condition - with what must be the most perfect show temperament and presence that I have met for many years. How his breeder must have wept about the end of his tail! He does look so well loved and totally secure in his superiority.
2nd Pen 77 Kidd's GMC Edwin MN
This super boy we had in the Imperial Class made for a close run decision but he was just pipped by the sheer show presence and calm of the oriental boy.
3rd Pen 79 Hirst's MC Rene FN
Very pretty feminine oriental tabby girl of fine type - was a tiny bit concerned as her coat was a little open and her third eyelids just showing although she happily purred for Yorkshire and offered to come home with us. Hope she was OK when she got home and it was only the result of a little show stress.
Ex 3rd Pen 80 Millan's Toffee MN
Another friendly one - a lengthy chocolate point Siamese boy who has a very soft slightly long coat. Suspect this might be due to something in his parentage as he was in super condition.

Class 320 Miscellaneous Class - AC Shorthair Cat or Kitten
1st Pen 71 Smith's MC Allan MN
2nd Pen 80 Millan's Toffy MN
3rd Pen 73 Kidd's OBIGMC Hannah FN
4th Pen 78 Whitfield's Maisie FN

This girl looked like an angelic curly haired blue eyed little pixie in her pen but when we took her out she was definitely not at all pleased to see us and rather than let the growls and hisses escalate to something worse we popped her back into the safety of her blankets.

Class 322 Miscellaneous Class - Visitors Cat or Kitten
1st Pen 69 Kidd's IMGC Domino MN
2nd Pen 76 Castelli's MC Stuart Little MN

This was a very difficult decision as both are gorgeous cats but the sheer impact of the mass of glossy black just pipped it.
3rd Pen 75 Evan's Sadie FN
4th Pen 81 Weatherill's MC Spydermonkey MN

Lean and elegant seal point Siamese boy who when we had him out was not entirely happy to be handled or with the cats around him so a little difficult to assess fully. Obviously he settled down and later went BIS pedigree pet - congratulations.

Class 324 Miscellaneous Class - Most appealing Cat or Kitten
1st Pen 77 Kidd's GMC Edwin MN

Class 328 - Club Class - NSCS Long Haired Cat
1st Meekings MC Annie FN

Pretty little chocolate point Balinese girl with a beautiful silky coat and in fantastic condition for her age. Sorry we had to unwrap her from her warm bed where she was clearly very happy although equally happy to be polite to us.

Class 332 - Club Class CACC Cat or Kitten
1st Pen 69 Kidd's IMGC Domino MN
2nd Pen 71 Smith's MC Allan MN

Class 334 Club Class - DCCC Cat or Kitten
1st Kidd's OBIGMC Hannah FN
